Permeric Medicated Bar is a Permethrin 1% Medicated Bar. This medication is used to treat scabies, a condition caused by tiny insects called mites that infest and irritate your skin. Permethrin belongs to a class of drugs known as pyrethrins. Permethrin works by paralyzing and killing the mites and their eggs.

1. Effective Treatment for Scabies

• Permethrin 1% is a first-line treatment for scabies.

• Kills Sarcoptes scabiei mites (the parasite causing scabies) and their eggs.

• Acts on the nervous system of mites, leading to paralysis and death.

Use Case: Apply to the entire body (excluding face unless directed), especially folds, between fingers, and under nails — common hiding places for mites.

2. Kills Hair Lice and Nits

• Permethrin also targets head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis).

• Paralyzes and kills both adult lice and nits (eggs) when used correctly.

Use Case: Applied on scalp and hair, left for 5–10 minutes before rinsing.

Potential Side Effects of Permeric Medicated Bar

1. Mild Skin Irritation

  • Itching (can be mistaken as treatment failure)

 Note: Itching after scabies treatment may continue for up to 2–4 weeks, even after the mites are killed. This is a normal immune response, not a sign the soap didn’t work.

3. Allergic Reactions (Rare)
